6 Reasons to E-Bike today

Whether you are a seasoned e-biker or just getting into the sport there are so many reasons people are choosing this mode of transport over their cars.

So if you are (or want to be) one of the 3.74 million Australians who ride weekly₁ here are a few more reasons to get you motivated:

  1. It saves you time - Ever been sitting in traffic and watched someone zoom past you on their bike? Not only do cyclists shave time off their commute they are also fitting in their daily workout. In a society where time is so precious, it's great to be able to get in some incidental exercise whilst travelling to work. Don’t like the idea of arriving at work a hot sweaty mess? Pedal assist allows you to reap the benefits of the faster commute without the need to shower and change once you arrive. More and more commuters are using this option for the journey to work and then the journey home as their workout.
  2. It reduces your carbon footprint -Want to do something for the environment but don’t know where to start? Many people don’t realise that electric bikes are a zero emission vehicle and have the same impact on the environment as a conventional bicycle₂.
  3.  It saves you money - 14.2% of household income is spent on transport costs each year₃. Compare that to the running costs of an electric bike; 10-15 cents per battery charge and the cost of one annual service.
  4.  It’s good for you - Ever heard of the runner's high? Well by riding a bike you can also achieve this and at a much lower impact to the body. Regular exercise has also been shown to boost your immunity₄, so you can beat off colds and minor infections much easier than if you don't regularly ride.
  5. It’s good for your mind- Riding has this innate ability to remove all other thoughts from your mind. In a society where we are always “on” its great to be able to disconnect and enjoy the repetitive, flowing motion of each pedal stroke.
  6. It's fun! - Whenever I think of my favourite childhood memories they almost always included riding around on a bicycle. The feel of the wind in my hair and the sun on my back, I felt free to go wherever I wanted, whenever I wanted.
